Product Description
Rich in tone and full of timeless character, Mountain Ridge Oak is a luxurious engineered wood floor that brings natural elegance and enduring beauty to any space. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s trusted destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this 14mm oak floor features a stunning smoked, planed, brushed, and matt lacquered finish — a combination that highlights the true craftsmanship of natural wood while providing exceptional performance and durability.
Each plank of Mountain Ridge Oak is designed to showcase the depth, texture, and grain of real oak. The smoked finishdeepens the natural colour of the wood, enhancing it with rich, earthy tones of coffee and caramel while highlighting the intricate patterns of the grain. The planed surface gives the floor a handcrafted appeal, adding a smooth yet subtly uneven texture that feels authentic and full of life. The brushed treatment enhances this effect, accentuating every natural detail of the timber, while the matt lacquer finish seals the surface with a protective layer that offers durability without losing the organic feel of raw wood. The result is a floor that exudes warmth, style, and sophistication.
The rustic/character grading of Mountain Ridge Oak celebrates the natural charm of real oak. You’ll find knots, colour variations, and touches of sapwood throughout, ensuring every plank is unique. This variation adds depth and personality, giving your floor a truly bespoke look. It’s the perfect choice for anyone who appreciates natural materials — whether you’re creating a modern farmhouse aesthetic, a cosy family home, or a sleek urban retreat.
Beneath its beautiful surface lies the strength of modern flooring innovation. This 14mm multi-layered engineered floorcombines the authenticity of hardwood with the stability of engineered construction. Unlike traditional solid wood, engineered flooring is specifically designed to handle Ireland’s changing weather conditions, resisting movement caused by temperature or humidity fluctuations. This means your floor remains smooth, stable, and perfectly fitted year after year.
For the best installation results, Mountain Ridge Oak must be glued directly to the subfloor. This ensures a seamless, secure fit and enhances the solid feel underfoot. The result is a floor that not only looks luxurious but also performs flawlessly — providing strength, stability, and comfort in equal measure.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Mountain Range is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
