So you have just purchased your beautiful new Laminate Wood Flooring and you can’t wait to fit it and have your room looking like new again.
You may have a handle on the fitting side of things, but you have just realised that you don’t want to remove your skirting boards. Now you are wondering how you are going to hide your expansion gaps?
If this sounds like you don’t worry, because this fabulous little video by B&Q shows just how easy it is to have a seamless finish to your laminate wood flooring, without removing your skirting board. This is done by fitting scotia beading and it is really that simple, anyone can do it.
You can either choose a scotia that matches the colour of your floor, or you can paint it to match your skirting boards. If your Skirting is White, you can actually buy white scotia to match, as scotia comes in many different colours these days.
The Scotia is then fixed into position by gluing it to the skirting board, not the flooring. This not only hides the expansion joint of your flooring, but allows for easy expansion and contraction of the floor, while you have a seamless finish.
Radiator Trims are used to hide the cuts in your flooring around your heating pipes and don’t forget the trim for your doorway, to give you that neat and polished professional finish.
The video also gives you some tips and care for the maintenance of your flooring, such using felt pads for your furniture and using mats in areas of high traffic, to protect your floor from unnecessary wear.
If you require any of the flooring accessories in the video, just contact our show room and we will be happy to assist you, as we stock Scotia Beading, Wood Trims, Radiator Trims, and Felt Pads.
